Hello all!

We just wanted to introduce ourselves! We are We Do Weddings and we are so honored to be a part of the wedding venue owners community. A huge thank you to Didi Russell for inviting us into the group and giving us this opportunity to connect with you all.

A little bit of background about us here at We Do Weddings… we actually came up with the idea to help connect couples and venues when we were noticing that many couples were reaching out to our venue (Ma Maison in Dripping Springs, Texas) to try and book last minute dates (1-2 months out). Then as our idea evolved and Covid-19 took over our world and the industry, We Do Weddings was born!

We Do Weddings is a new kind of wedding website. You’ve seen the big-name sites that promise to help and provide you with amazing leads, but you still end up doing all the work and not a whole lot else happens (BUMMER!). That’s where we come in. 

We Do Weddings acts like a matchmaker. Couples and wedding venues match up for mutual benefit. You as the venue owner will list your venue +  available dates (couples will never see your entire calendar, just availability if it matches their search) and couples find you and connect! Brides find venues for their perfect day, on their perfect timeline and venues book more weddings. It’s a win for all involved!

We officially launched the site in November 2020 and have had amazing success since then. Currently, there are over 30 venues from the Central Texas area included in our venue family and we have over 500 couples using the site!! Some amazing matches are happening and we would love for you to be a part of it!

NOW, on to the fun stuff!

Today we wanted to write about a subject close to our heart (as venue owners and working with tons of other venue owners)!

Knowing Your Client — How Understanding Who Your Ideal Client is Can Help Your Bookings

Here at WDW we work really hard to include a range of venue types that will appeal to all kinds of brides and couples. In Austin especially, there are so many different kinds of couples. We have the classic couples who love venues like The Driskill. We have the Boho couples who love venues like The Contemporary. We have the Hill Country couples who love a venue like Pecan Springs Ranch. We have the modern couples who love venues like Ma Maison…. See there are so many kinds of couples which means there are so many couples YOU CAN REACH!

In order to figure out what kind of bride/couple you want to attract, first you have to:

1. Figure Out Your Style –
   1. First and foremost, you need to figure out what style your venue is. If you are a barn…are you a rustic barn or a contemporary barn? If you are a hotel…are you a classic hotel or an edgy hotel? Figure out what defines your venue and WHAT MAKES YOUR VENUE special. That way, you will really be able to make the special details of your venue shine and appeal to the ideal client looking for your type of space.

2. Create Branding – That is Appealing to Your Aimed Clientele 
   1. Branding is everything. Is it maybe time to spice yours up? If you are a contemporary venue but are using dated fonts and colors, maybe consider doing a little facelift to your branding. Creating new branding or doing a little refresh also builds excitement. This is a great way for your followers and fans to follow along the rebranding journey! Everyone loves a reason to celebrate!

3. Make Your Vision Social –
   1. In this day and age we all know that Social Media is Key! Get your venue out there and make sure to have a daily presence on as many social outlets as possible. The more couples see you on Facebook and Instagram, the more they will know about you. Showcase all the looks and elements of your venue so a couple already knows what to expect when they reach out to you for a tour. The more they see, the more they believe your venue could be a great fit for them. Don’t be afraid to share share share! The more, the merrier.

4. Create Events and Be Seen – 
   1. In addition to having a thorough social media presence, people love a reason to come out and EXPERIENCE your experience. Think about throwing an Open House day or a special tour day. Have yummy snacks, maybe some bubbles, and fun things for couples to do when they come out and experience your venue. This will give couples a reason to SEE the venue but to also GET TO KNOW YOU! You are the face behind the venue and making that personal connection will surely bring in the types of couples you desire.
