The striking 1895 Victorian was painted in late 2020 and has just had a new roof installed. Its broad front porch overlooks the “village green” – a quaint setting of two historic churches, an old schoolhouse and a couple of other classic homes. The entire area was selected for the National Historic Register.
The 42+ acre property features almost a half mile of riverfront. There are two major areas for events. The pavilion is 1800 SqFt and was built in 2015. It overlooks the river and has a nearby caterer’s shed with power/water and work surfaces as well as a small bathroom building with separate ladies’ and men’s rooms with a dedicated septic tank and drain field. Nearby is a ceremony site featuring a rustic arbor with discreetly provided 120AC power nestled into a forested meadow.
The barn, constructed in 2016, has 5000 SqFt under roof. Lean-tos run along either side of the central barn which has a 24 ft interior peak lit with classic chandeliers. The bar area under one lean-to has a rustic flair with reclaimed tin roofing and live edge slab countertops. A wonderful sunken firepit is just a few steps away from the barn going towards the pond.
The featured ceremony site is close to the barn and overlooks the pond. Constructed with all new pressure treated framing but clad completely in reclaimed materials, it provides a very traditional look with modern structural integrity. Overall the property is a photographer’s dream.
The venue has over 1700 “likes” on Facebook with 1000+ check-ins. Reviews are a healthy 4.7 stars. Included with the sale of the venue will be 10 8’ farm tables, 40 6’ resin rectangular tables, 15 5’ resin round tables, 80 chiavari chairs, 200 wood or resin folding chairs and enough décor pieces (lamps, candelabras, lanterns, etc.) to fill a 40’ shipping container!
The rural location means a minimum of regulatory issues to be addressed. There are no noise ordinances in the county and there is plenty of parking space on site. In addition to weddings, the property has hosted birthday parties, baby showers and family reunions. Additional income has been provided by VRBO rentals and tour companies have arranged for mid-week stays for bicyclists – the perfect complement to the weekend heavy wedding business.
The owners of the venue are retiring and relocating to be closer to family. Their passion and creativity have created a wonderful opportunity for someone to step in and carry a well-regarded reputation forward.
