Over 6000 Active Wedding Venue Owners & Managers Connecting, Sharing Growing & Thriving!

Those of you who know me know that I have an unapologetic obsession with wedding venues. I research about 200 wedding websites a week and then use your website link to check out your social media pages. I have toured over 800 and find beauty from the drive way to bridal suite! I love looking at your wedding venue images and video. I love hearing your wedding venue stories and sharing your stories. So when I visit you online and you have not posted in months and/or you have very few images or no new images, its so disappointing! Why would you deprive the world of your venues beauty and the joyful celebrations you are hosting? If you don’t have time to manager your social media please check out our wedding venue resources pages to find some social media marketing support. Below you will find some wedding nerd rants and raves, starting with the rants, raves with awesome images are further down.

RANTS...Committing these social media marketing crimes are making engaged couples run away!

  1. Why do you have a social media account if you are letting it look like an abandoned house? SERIOUSLY THOUGH, WHY? I need to know, its keeping me up at night.
  2. Why are you paying for a social media marketing support team and they are not actively helping you get more content? If you host 30 weddings a year and each photographer will take at least 100 great images. That is 3000 potential images you could get from your vendor partners. Is your social media team helping you get these? CONTENT IS CURRENCY! If you need help with social media marketing please contact me didi@weddingvenueowners.com
  3. Why are you waiting for photographers to provide you with wedding content when you or your team can go to the wedding reception & ceremony site when its beautifully set up BEFORE guests arrive, take video and images, do a Facebook or Instagram live and then fill your content bucket up with content you own and control.
  4. Images covered in text, this is so unattractive. If you must add text to an image via Canva (for example) the next images you post have not text in or on the images.
  5. One sided conversations – if you have 1000 followers in Instagram and you are only following 75 people, others may not follow you because it looks like you don’t follow people back. It looks like you are a one sided social taker and not a giver. Isn’t the purpose of your business page to grow, increase engagement, brand loyalty and lead to bookings? Go back into your Instagram today and look at the accounts that are following you. Maybe you don’t follow everyone back, but follow the wedding industry accounts that will help boost your SEO.

I am a firm believer that you should always hand out far more compliments than complaints. So, here are some great wedding websites and social media I encountered this week.

The first image is Four Chimneys Inn, how cute and unique is that building! CHARM FOR DAYS!! When you are this unique, you have to show it off. Please go to their Instagram page to like, follow and share! Let’s show the world that venue owners support other venue owners!

Next we have Forget Me Knot Venue, I love their social media pics, they are fun and unique. Please follow their Instagram Page and COMMENT!!

One of my favorite images of the week is this aerial shot featuring the wedding guests forming a heart around the couple, from Sterling Stables Events. I MEAN WOW! Photo credit Cody Adkins Creations. This is why photography relationships are so vital, an experienced talented photographer like this one will bring so much value to your venue and the local wedding industry. PS Kudos to Sterling Stables for choosing an original, unique name that stands out in the crowed.

Next is The Wishing Willow, showing their Grand Opening date of Feb. 2022. They don’t have tons of images but they are already online engaging with their audience and this will help them book weddings before they ever open! SMART! Also, they are following over 700 and have only 308 followers. They are actively supporting other pages and working hard to grow their page, its not just a one sided effort here. SO PLEASE, show this new venue some love and go like, follow and comment on the Wishing Willow Instagram page. Please let them know you found their page on WeddingVenueOwners.com

Oak Tree Weddings, anytime an image makes me stop scrolling its worth noting! Dogs & cute kids at weddings always steal the show, but this awesome image is not just cute, it has important work to to! This image is promoting The Oak Tree Weddings Fall Open House. Do you have adorable fur baby wedding images? USE THEM!!
