Wedding Venue Stories, The Degas House: When I decided to host the first Wedding Venue Owners Working Vacation, the first phone call I made was to David Villarrubia of The Degas House. I was a little nervous because I had not had a lot of communication with David. I wasn’t sure what he would think about my hopes of connecting wedding venue owners with a working vacation to New Orleans. David was so supportive, helpful and positive. I attribute much of the success of the New Orleans trip to David and his team. David Villarrubia is a stranger to no one! He has a genuine interest in everyone he meets. He is charming and engaging. He has wedding stories, Edward Degas stories and some really good New Orleans stories. He knows all the best restaurants and speak easies in the French Quarter and beyond. David is THE person to get to know when you come to The Big Easy! If you are planning a trip to New Orleans I would highly, enthusiastically recommend that you book your stay at The Degas House! The 9 plush rooms and suites uniquely decorated with antiques and traditional decor include TVs with cable channels, fridges and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have 4-poster beds, claw-foot or Jacuzzi tubs, kitchens and private balconies. The upscale B&B and wedding venue is the former home of painter and sculptor Edgar Degas, only 7 minutes drive to the French Quarter.
David Villarrubia is once again stepping up to support wedding venue owners all over the country by sharing his wedding venue story. He shares so much knowledge in this video, watch until the end for some key insight that I know you will find helpful! We talk about advertising, customer service excellence, how he earned so many wedding awards and some secrets to venue owner success. David has operated The Degas House since the 90s! What on earth does is take to have long term success as a wedding venue owner? Watch the video to find out.
New Orleans is absolutely gorgeous but going to New Orleans and getting to visit The Degas House with David Villarrubia is an experience you will never forget. Not only is the Degas House bursting with historic charm, French design and dreamy New Orleans vibes, its also a place where David truly enjoys the art of entertaining. On the day of our visit it began pouring rain just as our charter was pulling up to The Degas House. David and his team greeted us at the curb with umbrellas, on the beautiful covered porch with champagne flowing and The Degas Team warmly welcoming us. We entered to find historic charm everywhere and a traditional New Orleans catered lunch. It was absolutely incredible. We drank, we talked about wedding venue life, New Orleans and Degas. We enjoyed the best Bloody Mary’s and incredible company. Thank you so much to David Villarrubia and his amazing team.
